These include new hotel expansion at the Mill Casino a $44 million dollars investment, creating several new jobs, First Call Resolution call center adding over 100 new jobs, Face Rock Creamery, $2 million dollar investment, with 15 new jobs, Port Orford Sustainable Seafood and many others.
The region’s economy is undergoing rapid diversification, logging, wood products, fishing are still important. In fact, these traditional industries are enjoying resurgence in recent years based on new technologies. At the same time, Oregon’s South Coast has seen rapid growth in light manufacturing, marine and tourism based industries.
