Lakeside is the gateway to beautiful Tenmile Lakes, some of the largest lakes on the coast. This easy-going town is off the highway and an ideal location for recreation, relaxation, and retirement. Within a 30-mile radius you will find 21 lakes, several major river systems, and many county, state and federal parks and campgrounds. Lakeside is only 9 miles south of Reedsport, and 12 miles north of North Bend. Located along US Highway 101, it is just one mile inland from the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
Major events in Lakeside include the Crawdad Festival on Mother's Day Weekend, the Independence Day Celebration in the County Park features vendors, a car show, and fantastic fireworks over the lake, and the third week in August boasts the Columbia Drag Boat Association's annual Drag Boat Races on Tenmile Lake.
