History & Funding
The South Coast Development Council, Inc. (SCDC) was founded in 2000 as a 501(c)3 non-profit economic development organization focused on traded sector business recruitment for Oregon’s South Coast. The organization was restructured and refocused in 2013/14 helping SCDC grow at an incredible rate. This has made it possible for us to help many businesses expand their current operations, find new locations, and was the catalyst for many successful start-up businesses.
Services provided by the South Coast Development Council, Inc. are FREE and directed by a sponsoring Council made up of several local businesses, governments, affiliates, and individual members interested in improving community livability. Our funding comes primarily from memberships and grants through public entities (cities and counties) and through private organizations / businesses and individuals. There are nearly 30 Board of Director investors, and many more Affiliates and Individual members.
