Executive Director: Samuel M. Baugh MBA
From his first job chipping excess cement out of cement trucks, to his current position as the Executive Director for the South Coast Development Council (SCDC) Sam has built relationships with both the company he is working in as well as their community partners.
For 12 years he worked with a multinational non-profit focused on helping to eliminate poverty. As a regional manager for the non-profit he taught courses on: - Finding Employment, Building a Small Business, How to manage personal finances, and Finding the right educational opportunities to build your career.
He also created a professional development series that focused on topics that ranges from using humor in the workplace to build morale and engagement in your organization, to growing an abundance mentality. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Utah Valley University, and guest lecturer at 4 other Colleges and Universities.
With a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Westminster College, Sam uses his knowledge to help business owners find ways to promote their personal businesses and build their team. He was a founding member and executive board member for a local chapter of SCORE and is a certified small business coach through them. He also sat on the Board of Directors for: The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce, Central Utah Adult Literacy Committee, Moutainland Applied Technology College business and technology advisory board, and many other groups focused on building communities through economic development and enhancement.
