Rodger Craddock - City of Coos Bay
Rodger Craddock began his association with the City of Coos Bay in March of 1991 when he was sworn in as a Reserve Police Officer with the Coos Bay Police Department. In November of 1995, Rodger transitioned from a volunteer to a full-time Police Officer. While working in the Police Department, Rodger held various positions including K-9 Officer, School Resource Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, Field Training Officer, Watch Commander, Administrative Sergeant, Administrative Captain, and Chief of Police. In September 2009, Rodger transitioned from managing the City’s Police Department to managing the day to day business of the City after being appointed as the City Manager.
Rodger attended the University of New Mexico, Crestmont College, Southwestern Oregon Community College, Kaplan College, Bellevue University, and Columbia Southern University. He has earned an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. In addition, he is a graduate of the Oregon Executive Development Institute.
Rick Skinner - Superior Construction Consulting Services
Rick is currently owner of Superior Construction Consulting Services which is located in Coos Bay/North Bend. Rick was General Manager of Knife River Materials – Coast Operations for a number of years. He was born & raised in North Bend, OR and currently live in Coos Bay. Rick has been married for 37-years and him and his wife have been foster parent’s for 16-years. They have one biological daughter, legal Guardian of one foster child and have adopted another now 13-years old.
Rick was the Past President of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Rick is also an Executive Committee member, the Chair of the BACC Transportation Committee for 5-years and a Member of Business Development & Support, LAT, & an Ambassador. Rick is also the Vice Chair of SWACT (South West Area Commission on Transportation) as well as the RRC (Regional Review Committee) for ConnectOregon Grant Applications and Super ACT Committee member. Rick is also on the Steering Committee for Boost Southwest Oregon and is a SCDC (South Coast Development Council) Member & director.
Rick Supports the community in many ways, especially Youth Activities; helped get South Coast Family Harbor, relief nursery off the ground and funded under a 501 C3, support the Boys & Girls Club, the Maslow Project, BASA (Bay Area Sportsman Association), Rotary Feasible of Trees, Star of Hope Valentines’ with the Stars, Coos County Youth Auction and may more.
Ron Kutch - West Coast Contractors
Ron was raised in lumber towns around Oregon. He remembers the days when the timber industry provided jobs for families and stability for communities. Although those days are largely gone, he sees a need for us to all pull together to improve our local economy for future generations and believes the South Coast Development Council is the vehicle to do just that.
Relocating to the area in 1985, Ron and his wife, Kristi, have been active members of the community, their church and in foster parenting about a zillion kids as well as raising four of their own. As a former traveling computer repairman for Burroughs/Unisys Corporation, and later in the technology department for Security and Umpqua Banks, he has worked all over the South Coast in a variety of businesses and government offices. Now employed as the I.T. and Communications Manager at West Coast Contractors, Ron stays in touch with the techier things of life and has the privilege of participating in several organizations and committees in the area.
Pam Plummer - Umpqua Bank
Pam Plummer graduated from UNLV with a BS in Business Administration with a double major in Financial Management and Financial Services. She moved to Oregon in 1994 and started her career in banking.
She has been with Umpqua Bank for 12 years and is the VP/Oregon Coast Commercial Banking Center Manager, serving the coast from Brookings to Newport. She is very involved in the business community serving on the SCDC Board since 2010, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2008-15 and was the 2014 President of the Chamber. She currently sits on the Chamber’s Business Development Committee and is Chair of the Marketing Committee. She serves on the Finance Committee for Bay Area Hospital and has served on the budget committee for the Coos County Urban Renewal Agency for the last two years.
She works closely with the family business Tri-County Plumbing Contractors, Inc., owned by her husband Wes, and has two children, Adam & Devin.
John Briggs was born and raised in Coos Bay, Oregon and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1963. He attended the University of Oregon and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1968. John Briggs is currently a retired CPA with 45+ years of experience.
John is active in the community and is a member of the Coos County Airport Board of Commissioners. He also volunteers at the Crossroads Community Cafe in North Bend, and is a founding member of the South Coast Development Council and has been treasurer since its inception in 2000. John was also Mayor of North Bend for two years in 2000 and a North Bend City Councilor for four years. John has also been a member of the Coos Bay Lions Club for over 45 years.
Currently John lives in North Bend with his wife Rose. He enjoys golfing and napping. John is one of our strongest proponents and gives an amazing amount of personal time and insight to make sure SCDC is running effectively.
Patty Scott - Southwestern Oregon Community College
Patty M. Scott has been at Southwestern Oregon Community College since 1993. She started out at Southwestern splitting time as Director of Student Support Services (TRIO) and Counseling Faculty. She was named Director of Educational Support Programs in 2002 and served as Dean of Students since February of 2006 until being named as interim President in October 2008. During her tenure at Southwestern, Patty served a five-year stint on the Faculty Senate and spent three of those as chair. She received an excellence in action award in 2005 for her work a chair of a faculty led retention task force that resulted in creation of several new programs and campus cultural change. Dr. Scott became the sixth president of SWOCC on December 14, 2009.
After starting her higher education pursuit at Lane Community College in Eugene, Patty completed a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon. She went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and Doctorate of Education in Community College Leadership from Oregon State University.
Patty is very involved in the community. She served on the steering committee for Leadership Coos for 14 years, is a trainer for the Ford Family Leadership program, a Parks Commissioner with City of Coos Bay, budget committee for Water Board, is on the foundation board for Bay Area Hospital and is a member of Rotary and Zonta service clubs.
Prior to coming to Southwestern, Patty worked in student services at the University of Oregon and in Career Services at Roger Williams College (now University) in Bristol, RI.
