Reedsport boasts a diversified economy with an emphasis on manufacturing and tourism. Winchester Bay, to its south, is a sheltered harbor with a fishing fleet, endless dunes, beautiful beaches – and tourism-related businesses. Gardiner, to its north, is a small, historic community and offers one of the largest parcels of industrial land still available on the Oregon Coast.

Recreation and EventsRecreation
Reedsport is an outdoor lover’s paradise. The Umpqua River has a large recreational fishing port on the Oregon Coast. In addition to fishing, visitors and locals alike enjoy hunting, hiking, riding ATVs on the Dunes, beachcombing, boating, bike riding, camping, golfing and much more. Just three miles east on Highway 38 is the historical Hinsdale Gardens and the famous Dean Creek Elk Viewing area currently sustaining hundreds of Oregon’s Roosevelt Elk in their natural habitat with viewing stations and photo opportunities. Our area is rich with recreational opportunities. There are 30 lakes within 30 miles and hiking trails for every level. We are a bike friendly community, or you can go kayaking, camping, ride ATV’s, Whale watching, walk on one of our beautiful pristine beaches or take a tour of the historical Umpqua River Lighthouse.
