Public Affairs/Community Outreach Coordinator: Kathleen ("Kath") Collier
Growing up, she had heard Grandpa telling stories of training Army submarine and airplane look outs on Bunker Hill during the war. It was time to find out more about this place.
Kath recently moved to the southern Oregon coast from the slopes of Mt. Hood. Moving here had been a long-term dream. Before the move, she completed a large project creating five online ‘how-to’ cookbooks that help families easily adopt a gluten-free life style. She worked in the federal sector as a management analyst (focusing on natural resource issues in Oregon and Washington), as a meeting facilitator / instructor for a nationally recognized collaboration training institute, and as a computer systems analyst / specialist / technical writer. Early in her career she worked as a freelance writer / artist / photographer.
Kath has a Bachelors of Science in Writing and 2-year certificate in technical writing (both with honors), from Ellis College, New York Institute of Technology. She has a rich background in communications, and extensive experience in computer information systems (Linfield College), and horticulture. Kath is also helps support some non-profit organizations including the local Zonta Club.
As an Oregon-native Kath is dedicated in her search to help support local communities. After hours she is finishing up a new home and garden she designed/built with her husband of over 30 years. They have one son who lives in Oregon.
